The Center for Disability Rights Research and Advocacy is Central Asia's pioneering research institution dedicated to promoting the rights of persons with disabilities through evidence-based research, capacity building, and community engagement.

Who We Are

The Center for Disability Rights Research and Advocacy was established through collaboration between the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Tashkent State University of Law, with support from the World Bank's PRIM program.

Our mission is to become the leading center for applied legal research on disability rights in Uzbekistan and the broader Central Asian region.

Our work directly supports Clause 23 of the UZBEKISTAN-2030 Strategy and Goal 66 of the National Development Strategy (2022-2026), which aim to:

  • Create a comprehensive support system for persons with disabilities
  • Double employment rates for persons with disabilities
  • Ensure 100% access to quality rehabilitation services
  • Build barrier-free infrastructure nationwide
  • Integrate international standards into national legislation
